A routine traffic stop on NYS Thruway led to the arrest of three women after New York State Troopers discovered a significant quantity of methamphetamine.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on April 5th, Troopers from SP Tarrytown pulled over a 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage traveling southbound on I-87 in the Town of Orangetown for a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The driver, later identified as Gloriana F. Solomon, 21, of Jamaica, NY, initially provided false identification to the Troopers. Further investigation revealed her true identity. Also in the vehicle were front seat passenger Gabrielle A. Wilson, 20, and rear seat passenger Halie Medina, 21, both of Bronx, NY.
Troopers conducted a search of the vehicle during the roadside investigation, resulting in the discovery of approximately 36 grams of methamphetamine.
All three individuals were taken into custody and transported to SP Tarrytown for processing. Solomon, Wilson, and Medina were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree (hallucinogen substance) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, both felonies. Additionally, Solomon was charged with Criminal Impersonation, a misdemeanor, and was issued multiple traffic tickets.
The trio was arraigned at the Town of Orangetown Court and released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to return to court on April 15, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
