For the third time in recent months, the same suspect has broken into the Pupa Yeshiva building on Widman Court, this time during the early hours of Shabbos morning. At approximately 3 a.m., the individual shattered a glass window to gain access to the office. However, the building’s alarm system was triggered, causing the suspect to flee the scene, leaving behind a backpack.
The Yeshiva staff returned on Sunday and immediately noticed the break-in. They promptly contacted Ramapo Police and Chaverim of Rockland to report the incident.
The suspect is well-known to Ramapo Police, who have an active warrant for his arrest. This marks the third burglary at the Yeshiva involving the same individual. He was previously arrested after breaking into the building a few months ago but was released due to New York State’s controversial bail reform laws. Following his release, he reportedly burglarized the Yeshiva again early last Thursday morning, just days after being let out of jail.
Authorities, including the Ramapo Police Department and Chaverim of Rockland, are actively investigating this latest incident.
Community members speaking to Monsey Scoop are urging the Ramapo Police to increase patrols and apprehend the suspect as soon as possible, expressing growing frustration over the repeated offenses and the perceived shortcomings of the current legal system.
