Thiells Home Engulfed in Early Morning Fire, Firefighter Hospitalized

At around 5:30 a.m. today, a fire broke out in a Thiells residence at 26 Madison Ave. Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the fire started in the garage’s furnace and spread to the main house. The firefighters, in their efforts to control the blaze, had to dismantle parts of the house.

The building, which contained two apartments, was evacuated with all four residents safe. During the operation, one firefighter suffered a medical emergency and was quickly taken to the hospital. He remains conscious and alert.

The firefighting team, comprising over 45 personnel from six departments, extinguished the fire in approximately two hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not currently deemed suspicious.
