The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Seeks New Horses for Mounted Unit

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for new horses to enhance their mounted unit. They are asking for assistance from the community in identifying horses that meet the following criteria:

  • Height: 16.2h – 18h
  • Age: 8-15 years old
  • Draft horses preferred
  • Sound in both mind and body
  • Recently under saddle

While donated horses are preferred, the Sheriff’s Office is open to purchasing reasonably priced horses that are a good fit for the unit. If you have a horse that matches the criteria or know someone who does, you are encouraged to reach out using the contact details below.
