Monsey (Airmont) is set to welcome a new addition to its retail landscape as “The Hive Discount” prepares for its grand opening. Tentatively aiming to open on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the new store promises to become a cornerstone for local families, offering a stable and reliable shopping experience. However, the store’s management tells Monsey Scoop that ongoing preparations might slightly delay the opening date.
Described as “the family’s essentials supercenter,” The Hive Discount has been designed with the needs of the Monsey community in mind. The store is committed to providing honest savings to its customers, positioning itself as a trusted and budget-friendly option for local shoppers.
The Hive Discount will feature a range of in-house departments, including fish, deli, meat, produce, sushi, and bakery. A pizza store is also planned to open soon, further enhancing the convenience and variety the store will offer.
This new venture follows the closure of The Kosher Hive, which shut its doors in August this year after struggling with severe financial difficulties as Monsey Scoop reported back then. The store’s assets were acquired by Evergreen Kosher Supermarket, which took over the lease and has since worked to create a fresh, community-oriented concept for the location.
Why is this needed
“This new venture follows the closure of The Kosher Hive, which shut its doors in August this year after struggling with severe financial difficulties as Monsey Scoop reported back then. The store’s assets were acquired by Evergreen Kosher Supermarket, which took over the lease and has since worked to create a fresh, community-oriented concept for the location.”
This is all very confusing. It was “The Hive” that went belly up, then was taken over by Evergreen for a few months, and now it’s Hive Discount? Is this being owned again by the original Hive ownership too? Wuzup?? Something sounds fishy here.
It’s currently owned by the greater gourmet glatt / evergreen family
What is the location?
Former Pathmark. In Walmart shopping center
ShopRite was by Walmart. Pathmark was where Evergreen is.
