A motorcyclist has died following a collision on Route 303 in Tappan Sunday afternoon, according to the Orangetown Police Department.
Police said the crash occurred at approximately 12:53 p.m. at the intersection of Route 303 and Campbell Avenue. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling south on Route 303 attempted to make a left turn onto Campbell Avenue when it collided with a northbound 2025 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to Montefiore Nyack Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.
Police said no other injuries were reported. A third vehicle, a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, was stopped at the intersection at the time of the crash but was not directly involved.
The Tappan Fire Department, South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, Rockland County Paramedics, and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI Unit assisted at the scene.
The Orangetown Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the fatal crash. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has additional information is asked to contact the Orangetown Police Department at 845-359-3700.

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a three-vehicle crash involving two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle on Route 303 at approximately 12:50 p.m. Sunday.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the motorcyclist became trapped beneath one of the vehicles and was extricated by members of the Tappan Fire Department.
The rider was transported in critical condition to Montefiore Nyack Hospital by the South Orangetown EMS and Rockland Paramedics. Additional patients involved in the crash were evaluated and treated at the scene.
Orangetown Police remain on scene investigating the cause of the crash. Route 303 is closed between Washington Street and Kings Highway as the investigation continues, and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
