Suspect in Ramapo Stabbing Arrested; Victim Injured in Altercation

A 24-year-old Hillcrest man was arrested on Monday, February 26, 2024, for his involvement in a stabbing that seriously injured a 21-year-old Nanuet man. The Ramapo Police Department reported the incident occurred during a physical altercation on Saturday, February 17, in the Hillcrest area of Ramapo, where the victim suffered a severe arm laceration.

Authorities quickly identified and located the suspect, who was known to the victim and had fled the scene on foot. He has been charged with Assault in the 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree.

Following his arraignment, the suspect was taken to the Rockland County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash or $100,000 bond. The arrest was the result of a collaborative effort, involving assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI and REACT units.
