Sunday Storm: Snowfall Expected in Rockland County on February 2 – Roads Becoming Extremely Slippery

Snow began developing around 6:00 p.m. this evening, Sunday, February 2, and is expected to continue through the night. Forecasters predict snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2 inches, with a chance of freezing drizzle mixing in as precipitation tapers off between midnight and 2:00 a.m. Monday. While only trace amounts of ice are expected, slick conditions remain a concern.

In response, highway departments in Rockland County, including Ramapo and surrounding towns, have mobilized their crews, actively salting roads to mitigate hazardous conditions.

Despite these efforts, multiple Monsey Scoop followers have reported that roads are extremely slippery as of 6:15 p.m. Sunday. Drivers are urged to exercise caution while traveling.
