The Monsey community is gearing up for a monumental and spiritually uplifting event, as Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim Scheiner’s Shul, located at 18 Forshay Rd, prepares to welcome two new Sifrei Torah into its holy premises.
This grand occasion is dedicated לעילוי נשמת the esteemed and cherished Rebbetzin Zipporah Malka A”H, Philanthropist Lazer Scheiner’s grandmother, as well as HaRav Tzvi HaKohen Kogan HY”D, the Chabad Shluach who was tragically kidnapped and murdered in Dubai while spreading the light of Torah and mitzvos. This event honors their memory, ensuring their legacies continue to inspire the community and beyond.
The Hachnosas Sefer Torah’s begins this Sunday, December 29th, יום א’ פרשת ויגש, ד’ דחנוכה. The program will include:
- 12:00 PM: Writing of the final letters in the Sifrei Torah, hosted at the home of the Philanthropist Reb Lazer Scheiner’s Home, located at 1 Celia Court, Suffern, NY.
- 1:00 PM: A lively procession and dancing will escort the Sifrei Torah’s to their new home at Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim (Scheiner’s Shul), 18 Forshay Rd, Monsey, NY.
The joyous event will culminate in celebratory dancing and a buffet, embodying the community’s deep respect and reverence for the Torah.
This is a unique opportunity for the entire Monsey community to unite in honor of the Torah, celebrating its timeless message of faith, dedication, and resilience.
