SUFFERN: Water Main Break Causes Major Sinkhole on Mile Road

A significant water main break on Mile Road near Charnwood Drive has led to the formation of a large sinkhole, prompting immediate action from local authorities.

Veolia Water Company crews are currently on-site, working diligently to repair the damaged infrastructure. Assisting in the effort, the Ramapo Police Department and Ramapo Highway Department are also present to ensure safety and manage the situation effectively.

As a precaution, Mile Road has been closed to traffic between Viola Road and Charnwood Drive. Residents and commuters are advised to seek alternative routes while the repairs are underway.
