Suffern Police Department Promotes Detective Sergeant William Simurra to Lieutenant

At Monday night’s Village of Suffern Board Meeting, Mayor Michael Curley and the Village Board promoted Detective Sergeant William Simurra to the rank of Lieutenant in the Suffern Police Department.

A lifelong Suffern resident, Lt. Simurra has served in a wide range of roles, including assistant accreditation manager, field training officer, instructor, and supervisor of both the Detective Bureau and multiple patrol squads.

He holds a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University and serves as a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve.

The Village congratulates Lt. Simurra on this milestone and looks forward to his continued service in keeping the community safe.
