Suffern Fire Department Mourns Passing of Former Chief Frank Wilson

The Suffern Fire Department is mourning the loss of longtime member and former chief Frank Wilson, who passed away this week.

Wilson was a 52-year Life Member of Suffern Hook & Ladder Co. #1 and served as the department’s 55th Chief from 1999 to 2002. Throughout his decades of service, he was known for his dedication, courage, and unwavering commitment to protecting the Suffern community.

In addition to his fire service, Wilson was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. His commitment to helping others extended both locally and beyond, reflecting a lifetime devoted to public service.

He is survived by his son Kyle, sister Christine Andersen, and brothers Glen Wilson, John Wilson, Larry Wilson, and William Wilson, many of whom also served in the fire service, along with his nephew Matthew Wilson.

The department extended its deepest condolences to Wilson’s family and friends during this difficult time.
