Suffern and Ramapo Police Departments Conduct Joint Active Shooter Training at RP Connor Elementary School

In a proactive step toward ensuring community safety, officers from the Suffern Police Department joined forces with the Town of Ramapo Police Department today for a comprehensive active shooter training session at RP Connor Elementary School. This joint training provided officers with a valuable opportunity to enhance their tactical skills and reinforce critical techniques essential for effective emergency response.

The Suffern Central School District offered the use of its facilities, enabling officers to practice in an authentic school environment. Retired Sergeant T. Koziak from the Rockland County Police Academy staff and Police Officer Genito of the Town of Ramapo Police Department played instrumental roles in leading the session.

Village of Suffern Mayor Michael F. Curley contributed to the day’s collaborative spirit by surprising attendees with a catered lunch, expressing his appreciation for their dedication to community safety.

Through this joint training, Suffern and Ramapo officers continue to uphold a high standard of readiness, underscoring their commitment to the safety and security of all local residents.
