Stony Point Teen Killed in Route 6 Crash Near Long Mountain Traffic Circle

A tragic single-vehicle crash late Wednesday night on Route 6 in the Town of Woodbury claimed the life of a 19-year-old Stony Point man, according to the New York State Police.

The victim, identified as Xavier Egger, was riding in the back seat of a 2017 Nissan when the vehicle, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate a curve at the Long Mountain traffic circle. The car ran through the circle and struck a tree, police said. Egger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Steffany Egger, along with a 21-year-old male passenger in the front seat, were treated on-site before being transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing. State Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.
