Stony Point Police Officer Brian Horowitz Retires After 20 Years of Dedicated Service

The Stony Point Police Department is honoring Police Officer Brian Horowitz as he retires following 20 years of dedicated service to the department and the North Rockland community.

A lifelong North Rockland resident and graduate of North Rockland High School, Horowitz began his career in public service as a paramedic before joining the Stony Point Police Department in July 2006.

Throughout his career, Horowitz served in several important roles, including as a member of the department’s Accident Investigation Unit. He also shared his extensive EMS experience as an instructor at the Rockland County Police Academy and volunteered with the North Rockland Youth Police Academy, helping inspire local students interested in careers in law enforcement.

Beyond his police duties, Horowitz is well known as the founder of Hudson River Radio, an online radio station he continues to operate, combining his passion for music, broadcasting, and serving the local community.

He has also been a longtime supporter of the Stony Point PAL, volunteering his time by bringing Hudson River Radio to numerous PAL events, providing music and entertainment that helped make community celebrations memorable for local families.

In a statement marking his retirement, the Stony Point Police Department thanked Horowitz for his decades of service and dedication to the community, wishing him and his family many years of good health, happiness, memorable travels, and a long, well-deserved retirement.
