Stony Point Police have arrested a 34-year-old Tomkins Cove woman in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred last week in a neighborhood off South Liberty Drive.
According to police, the investigation began on November 25, 2025, at approximately 6:15 AM, when officers received numerous reports of larcenies from parked vehicles. Over the next several hours, seven residents filed complaints. Surveillance footage from the area showed a suspect entering vehicles and removing property.
Investigators, working with the Haverstraw Police Department, who had recently arrested a suspect in a similar case, were able to identify the woman as a person of interest. As Monsey Scoop previously reported, that earlier arrest involved an overnight vehicle larceny spree in Haverstraw.
As the investigation progressed, officers obtained additional security footage, including clear video from the Stony Point Budget Motor Inn. That footage showed the suspect in possession of several items reported stolen earlier that morning. Police say she had been staying at the motel with the previously arrested suspect, and several stolen items were recovered at the time of her arrest.
On December 2, 2025, at approximately 8:25 AM, officers located the suspect on North Liberty Drive in Tomkins Cove and took her into custody. She was transported to the Stony Point Police station for processing and arraigned in Stony Point Justice Court. She was remanded to the Rockland County Jail on $250 bail for an active bench warrant and multiple failures to appear.
The suspect is charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth and fifth degrees. She is scheduled to return to court on December 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
