Stony Point Police Arrest Chestnut Ridge Man for Assault and Unlawful Imprisonment Over Loan Dispute

Stony Point Police arrested a Chestnut Ridge man on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in connection with a violent altercation over an alleged unpaid debt.

Officers took 44-year-old Angelo Savage into custody at approximately 4:18 PM after locating him at a business on South Liberty Drive. He was charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd Degree, and Attempted Grand Larceny in the 6th Degree.

The arrest follows a report filed on July 27, in which the victim claimed Savage had loaned him approximately $2,000. During a heated exchange at a private residence, Savage allegedly punched the victim and held him against his will until he handed over a debit card. Savage later attempted to withdraw funds from an ATM but was unsuccessful.

Savage was arrested without incident and transported to Stony Point Police Headquarters for processing.
