On Monday, May 20, 2024, at approximately 10 PM, police responded to an incident in the Dickens St and Pyngyp Rd neighborhood of Stony Point.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for residents in the area during the incident but has since been lifted. Police have confirmed that a suspect is now in custody, while another suspect remains on the loose. Authorities believe the victim was specifically targeted, indicating this is an isolated incident. Stony Point Police detectives are actively investigating the matter.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the Stony Point Police Department recovered a gun and bullets at the scene, which were used in a dispute where one round was fired.
Authorities are urging anyone with surveillance cameras in the Dickens St and Pyngyp Rd neighborhoods to review footage from Monday, May 20, 2024, between 9:30 PM and 12:00 AM for any suspicious activity.
