The Stony Point Police Department is mourning the sudden passing of retired part-time Officer Mark Civita, who served the community with dedication and distinction. Civita, a former Sergeant with the Spring Valley Police Department, joined the Stony Point PD in June 2011 following his retirement from Spring Valley. He continued to serve faithfully until his final retirement in December 2019.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Civita was known for his musical talents, which brought joy to many. The department extends its heartfelt condolences to Officer Civita’s family and friends. May he rest in peace.
