STONY POINT: Missing 7-Year-Old Autistic Child Located Safely After Multi-Agency Search

A coordinated response by multiple law enforcement agencies led to the safe recovery of a missing 7-year-old autistic child in Stony Point on Saturday evening, July 26.

At approximately 7:30 PM, Stony Point Police received a report of the missing child and immediately launched a search operation. Officers were joined by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, which deployed a drone for aerial surveillance. The Westchester County Police Department also responded to the scene with a specialized bloodhound team to aid in the search efforts.

Roughly 30 minutes after the child was reported missing, he was located safe within a half-mile of his home and reunited with his family.

Authorities expressed gratitude for the swift and effective collaboration that led to the positive outcome. The Stony Point Police Department thanked both the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and the Westchester County Police Department for their vital support.
