On Sunday morning, EMT students from the Stony Point Ambulance Corps and the Stony Point Ambulance Youth Corps engaged in a comprehensive Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Drill. This event offered a valuable hands-on learning experience for all participants, enhancing their readiness for real-life emergency situations.
The drill simulated a large-scale emergency scenario, allowing the students to practice critical skills in a controlled, yet realistic environment. The exercise included the coordination of multiple emergency services, the triage and treatment of numerous simulated patients, and the management of resources and communication under pressure.
Instructors and seasoned EMTs provided guidance throughout the drill, ensuring that the students could apply their classroom knowledge to practical situations effectively. The MCI Drill aimed to bolster the participants’ confidence and competence in handling complex emergencies, ultimately improving their preparedness to serve the community.
