Stony Point Battlefield Shares Construction Update as Museum Renovation Continues

Work continues at Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site as crews make steady progress on a series of major accessibility and visitor improvements, park officials announced.

Although an official reopening date for the battlefield museum has not yet been announced, officials released new photos showing the latest construction progress.

The project includes the installation of a new patio, entrance ramp, lighting, walking path, and upgraded ADA-accessible parking to improve the visitor experience.

Due to the ongoing renovations, the site’s planned celebration marking America’s 250th Independence Day will be modified and held at a temporary encampment near the historic Stony Point Lighthouse.

Construction fencing has surrounded the museum area since November as work continues toward completion. Officials also shared renderings of the finished project, offering visitors a preview of the upgraded entrance and surrounding grounds.
