The BMW stolen during Thursday morning’s brazen home invasion in the Viola section of Monsey was recovered at approximately 8:40AM Friday morning in Newark, New Jersey.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that Newark Police located the vehicle parked on a side street with a fake plate sloppily covering the real license plate. The plate was positioned at a slant, allowing officers to notice another plate underneath and confirm the car’s true identity.
At this stage, no suspects are in custody. Newark Police and Ramapo Police continue to search for the perpetrators. Ramapo Police are expected to process the vehicle for fingerprints.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the BMW was recovered without any visible damage. No stolen items were found in the area, and investigators have not yet searched the car’s compartments to determine whether any belongings remain inside.
The homeowner, speaking to Monsey Scoop, expressed heartfelt gratitude: “Big shoutout and thank you to Yossi Margaretten, Beri Eisenbach, and the Chaverim of Rockland Security Team. Boruch Hashem, the car was just located. Hopefully they will catch the suspects and find some of my belongings and my tallis and tefillin.” He also thanked the Ramapo Police Department and Newark Police Department for their “outstanding work” in bringing quick results to this frightening case.
As previously reported by Monsey Scoop, two masked intruders broke into the home at approximately 4:20AM Thursday morning through an unlocked window, while the family slept upstairs. The burglars stole expensive pocketbooks, a briefcase, a tallis and tefillin, the family’s keys, and the BMW before fleeing the scene.
The investigation remains active, and police are urging residents to remain vigilant and secure their homes.
