SPRING VALLEY: Wanted Suspect Evades Police Following Traffic Stop On North Main Street

A routine traffic stop turned into a manhunt late Sunday night when a wanted suspect fled on foot after being pulled over by New York State Police.

The incident occurred around 11:00PM on North Main Street near Lawler Boulevard. Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the state trooper conducting the stop ran the driver’s information and discovered that the individual was wanted by the Clarkstown Police Department. The officer immediately called for backup, but before additional units could arrive, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled toward Memorial Park.

Officers from the Spring Valley Police Department, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, and additional State Police units responded and launched a coordinated search of the area. Despite an extensive effort, the suspect was not located.

Sources tell Monsey Scoop that authorities have the suspect’s information and are planning to make an arrest soon. The investigation is still ongoing.
