At Tuesday evening’s Village of Spring Valley Board meeting, Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach presented a resolution to repave Union Road—one of the village’s main arteries. The proposal was brought to a vote and passed with board approval.
Eisenbach emphasized that the deteriorating condition of Union Road has been a major concern for years, with thousands of vehicles using it daily. Efforts to repave had previously stalled due to financial constraints and concerns about repeated utility cuts from ongoing development.
Now, with approximately 75 to 80 percent of the road fully developed, Eisenbach said it was the right time to act. He located available grant funding that will cover 95 to 98 percent of the project’s cost.
The plan includes milling and paving Union Road from Viola Road to Maple Avenue, as well as North Myrtle Avenue—the one-way small road behind the grocery leading to Maple Avenue.
“I’m very appreciative to those who supported this idea,” Eisenbach told Monsey Scoop. “This project will bring long-overdue relief to residents who have raised their concerns for years.”
Construction is expected to begin in the coming months.
