SPRING VALLEY – UPDATE: Right Turn Only Rule Now in Effect at South Cole and Route 59

As of Monday morning, June 9th, new traffic restrictions are officially in effect at the intersection of South Cole Avenue and Route 59 in Spring Valley. Vehicles approaching from West Central Avenue are now only permitted to make a right turn onto Route 59. Left turns and through traffic are no longer allowed.

This safety measure was unanimously approved by the Village Board during a meeting last week and was spearheaded by Trustee Smith following a review of accident data provided by the Spring Valley Police Department. The report showed a consistent pattern of crashes during all hours of the day and week.

Monsey Scoop previously reported on the board’s vote to approve this change. Click here to read the original article.

Officials say the intersection will continue to be monitored and further adjustments may be considered based on results.
