Spring Valley Residents Face Tax Billing Error; Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach Offers Assistance

A significant tax billing error has surfaced in Spring Valley, leaving  24 property owners facing unexpected charges on their county tax bills. Despite paying their taxes on time in June 2024, these residents discovered that their payments were not properly recorded due to a technical glitch with the village’s third-party tax collection service, Lockbox.

The issue began when Lockbox collected a total of $125,246.48 for 24 parcels on June 26, 2024, but failed to forward the batch to the village system for processing. As a result, these payments were marked as unpaid and re-levied on the county tax bills, now including additional interest charges. Residents were alarmed to find themselves billed again, with penalties applied to their accounts for an error outside their control.

Monsey Scoop obtained a list detailing the full scope of the affected properties and payments involved attached below. Residents can review their own records to confirm if they were impacted and are encouraged to verify the status of their tax bills online at Spring Valley Municipal Tax Payments.

Spring Valley Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach, upon learning of the situation, immediately notified the mayor and village officials to initiate corrective measures. The Village Treasurer, Martine Narcisse, MBA, confirmed that the village is actively working with the County and the Town of Ramapo to resolve the matter. Corrected bills are expected to be issued within one to two weeks, and any penalties incurred due to the error will be waived, as confirmed by Town Of Ramapo Tax Collector Yitzchok Ullman.

Trustee Eisenbach has taken an active role in assisting affected residents. He has urged everyone to carefully review their tax bills to ensure accuracy and encouraged anyone encountering discrepancies to reach out for support. Trustee Eisenbach is available to help residents navigate the issue, providing direct assistance and answers to their concerns.

For assistance, residents can contact Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach at 845-826-2260 or via email at Yeisenbach@villagespringvalley.org. Alternatively, Village Treasurer Martine Narcisse is reachable at 845-517-1121.
