The Village of Spring Valley is reminding residents that recycling will NOT be picked up today (Wednesday), as the village has officially moved collection to Saturdays under the new sanitation schedule previously reported by Monsey Scoop. Residents should instead place recycling at the curb Friday night for Saturday pickup, ensuring all cardboard boxes are flattened and placed neatly.
In addition, yard waste pickup continues on Wednesdays, but must follow strict guidelines: leaves and grass must be placed in biodegradable paper bags (not plastic), while branches must be cut, bundled (no more than 4 feet), and tied before being placed curbside. Items not prepared properly may not be collected.
Officials say the updated schedule is aimed at reducing midweek clutter and improving overall cleanliness throughout the village.
