Spring Valley Police Release Statement on Bullet Found in Office Building; Investigation Ongoing

The Spring Valley Police Department has released additional information regarding the possible gunfire incident that prompted a police investigation Thursday afternoon at 1 North Madison Avenue.

According to police, officers responded to the building on July 9, 2026, at approximately 2:25 p.m. following a report of a suspicious incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a bullet had entered a third-floor window of the building.

Detectives from the Spring Valley Police Department, assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), responded to conduct a thorough investigation.

The preliminary investigation determined that the shooting had occurred sometime in the past and was not an active incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
