Spring Valley Police Officer Rescues Seizing Driver Trapped Behind Wheel

On Monday, July 28th, 2025, a Spring Valley police officer sprang into action to rescue a motorist experiencing a medical emergency while behind the wheel on North Pascack Road.

At approximately 3:30 PM, the officer was on routine patrol when flagged down by a passerby reporting a driver in distress. Navigating through traffic with lights and sirens activated, the officer reached the vehicle and found the driver alone, locked inside, appearing to suffer from a seizure. The vehicle was still in “Drive,” with the driver’s foot on the brake.

The officer immediately called for EMS, broke a window with her baton, shifted the car into park, and—along with bystanders—removed the driver and began administering aid. The victim was later transported to Nyack Hospital for treatment.
