SPRING VALLEY: Police Officer Injured After Fiery Crash and Fight on Memorial Park Drive

On Saturday night around 8:00 p.m., police responded to reports of a vehicle driving without a tire, possibly the result of an earlier crash, and potentially on fire near Memorial Park Drive and Lawrence Street. When officers arrived, they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. During the response, two occupants of the burning car began physically fighting with police, injuring a Spring Valley Police officer. Both individuals were taken into custody, and sources tell Monsey Scoop that the driver was reportedly intoxicated.

A large multi-agency response followed, with firefighters from the Spring Valley and Monsey Fire Departments working alongside Ramapo Police, Clarkstown Police, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Spring Hill EMS, and Rockland Paramedics to bring the situation under control.
