Spring Valley Police Investigating Death of 6-Month-Old Infant on White Street

The Spring Valley Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive infant on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 4:39 p.m., at a residence located at 18 White Street.

According to Spring Valley Police Department, officers arrived within minutes and encountered an adult female holding an unresponsive six-month-old child. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures, and the infant was transported to a local hospital. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, the child was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities reported that eight additional children were found inside the residence and appeared to be in good health. Child Protective Services and the Rockland County Building Department were notified and responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The incident remains under active investigation.
