The Village of Spring Valley hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday morning to mark the beginning of its much-anticipated expansion project to the Spring Valley Police Department’s Headquarters. The expansion, a critical upgrade for the department, has been made possible through a substantial grant of half a million dollars.
Deputy Mayor of Spring Valley, Yisroel Eisenbach, expressed his gratitude and admiration for the efforts of Nida Sharif, the Village of Spring Valley’s Director of Community Development and Housing. Sharif played a pivotal role in securing this vital grant, which is set to fund a significant portion of the expansion costs.
Eisenbach highlighted the importance of this project, stating that the funds are not sourced from taxpayer money. The expansion will address crucial needs within the department, including the enlargement and modernization of locker rooms for both male and female officers, and enhancements to the evidence room.
This development comes as a relief to the department, which has long awaited such improvements. The grant of $500,000 is expected to cover approximately 95 to 98 percent of the total expenses, marking a significant financial achievement for the village and a leap forward in the capabilities of the Spring Valley Police Department.
