The Spring Valley Police Department announced the arrest of a woman following an assault that occurred during the early morning hours of March 1 at El Diamante Bar & Restaurant, located at 10 South Main Street in Spring Valley.
Police say a female victim reported that she was struck in the face with a glass bottle by another individual during the incident. The victim sustained a facial laceration and required four stitches for her injuries.
The case was assigned to the department’s Detective Bureau, and through investigative efforts officers identified the suspect as Yenny Hernandez-Martinez, 40, of South Spring Valley. On March 4, Hernandez-Martinez was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Hernandez-Martinez was arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court before Judge Sweet and was released on her own recognizance.
