Two men were arrested following a Spring Valley Police investigation into a violent robbery and kidnapping that occurred earlier this year.
According to the Spring Valley Police Department, officers responded to a robbery report at approximately 12:30 a.m. on January 13, 2026. During the investigation, police determined that the victim had been held against his will for several hours by two men, during which time he was assaulted and had property stolen.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested two brothers on February 2, 2026: Adil Awan, 39, of Spring Valley, New York, and Adeel Awan, 44, of Mahwah, New Jersey.
Adeel Awan has been charged with Robbery in the Second Degree, Kidnapping in the Second Degree, Burglary in the Second Degree, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Harassment in the Second Degree. Adil Awan has been charged with Robbery in the Second Degree, Kidnapping in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Harassment in the Second Degree.
Both defendants were arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
Authorities stressed that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
