SPRING VALLEY: Over 2,000 Lose Power After Car Slams Into Utility Pole at Sima Lane and Old Nyack Turnpike

A single-vehicle accident in Spring Valley on Monday afternoon at approximately 6:00 PM resulted in a significant power outage affecting more than 2,000 Orange & Rockland Utilities customers.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Sima Lane and Old Nyack Turnpike, where a vehicle crashed into a utility pole. Ramapo Police, Spring Valley Fire Department, and Hatzoloh EMS responded to the scene. Minor injuries were reported.

Orange & Rockland Utilities crews are on site making repairs. As of the latest update, 2,136 customers remain without power. Service is expected to be restored by 8:01 PM.
