Spring Valley Trustees Yisroel Eisenbach and Asher Grossman met with leadership from the Spring Valley Police Department to coordinate logistics and safety ahead of the annual Chometz burning, scheduled for Friday, April 11th, the day before Pesach.
Spring Valley Police and Fire Department will be on-site from early Friday morning to assist with traffic control and ensure public safety during the event, which draws hundreds of families each year. Officials are strongly encouraging attendees to arrive early to avoid congestion and delays.
“There will be only one entrance into the park this year, and we urge everyone to follow all traffic signs and instructions from law enforcement,” Trustee Eisenbach tells Monsey Scoop. “The officers are there to help, not to hinder. Please cooperate fully to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all. I also want to thank the Spring Valley Fire Department for their ongoing support and for always being there to ensure this event runs safely.”
Veterans Drive at Main Street (next to Parkview) will be the only entrance into the park from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Vehicles may exit the park via Veterans Drive at Dr. Berg or Veterans Drive at East Church Street during the same hours. Lawrence Street will be closed from Memorial Park Drive to Main Street to reduce congestion. Additional parking will be available along Memorial Park Drive, with access to the park via a pedestrian bridge near the pool area.
Last year’s Chometz burning ran smoothly thanks to strong collaboration between the community and local law enforcement. “We appreciate the Spring Valley Police Department’s ongoing support and understanding of the community’s needs,” Trustee Grossman told Monsey Scoop. “Their partnership and input makes a big difference every year.”
Residents are reminded that safety and order are the top priorities. Cooperation with police, early arrival, and use of designated parking areas are essential for a successful and safe event.
