SPRING VALLEY: Juveniles Taken into Custody on North Main Street After Police Pursuit; Taser Deployed, Knife Recovered

A Spring Valley Police officer initiated a brief foot pursuit on Tuesday afternoon after spotting several juveniles near North Main Street and Memorial Park Drive with what appeared to be a firearm. At approximately 12:30 PM, the officer called for backup and pursued the individuals on foot, during which a Taser was deployed.

Two juveniles were taken into custody during the incident. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the firearm in question was not real. In addition, a knife was recovered at the scene.

New York State Police were present to assist at the scene. Spring Hill EMS was later dispatched to the Spring Valley Police Department stationhouse to attend to an injury sustained from the Taser deployment. Authorities continue to investigate the matter.
