SPRING VALLEY: Fully Engulfed Vehicle Fire on NYS Thruway Near Exit 14

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday, emergency personnel rushed to the northbound lanes of the New York State Thruway near Exit 14, where a vehicle had lost control, veered into a ditch, and burst into flames.

The fire quickly engulfed the vehicle and spread to the surrounding brush, igniting a secondary fire in the grassy area nearby. Firefighters and other emergency personnel arrived on the scene to contain the blaze.

Fortunately, all occupants safely exited the vehicle before it was fully engulfed, and no injuries have been reported. While the incident caused temporary delays in the area, traffic continued to flow as emergency crews worked to extinguish the flames and clear the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
