Earlier this month, Spring Hill EMS and the Suffern Fire Department, along with Good Samaritan Hospital, participated in a simulated motor vehicle accident scenario to enhance their emergency response skills.
In the drill, first responders from both the Suffern Fire Department and Spring Hill Ambulance Corps arrived at the mock accident scene, where they encountered two injured individuals trapped inside a passenger vehicle. Firefighters quickly deployed a precautionary hose line and worked alongside Suffern Hook and Ladder to stabilize the vehicle and safely extricate the patients.
Once the individuals were freed from the vehicle, Spring Hill EMS personnel transported them to waiting ambulances. The patients were then taken to Good Samaritan Hospital’s emergency room, where further training exercises were conducted by hospital staff in coordination with the Spring Hill team. Meanwhile, firefighters continued their training, practicing advanced extrication techniques at the accident site.
The event served as a valuable hands-on learning opportunity, ensuring that local emergency services are well-prepared for real-life incidents.
