SLOATSBURG: Second Alarm Blaze Erupts at Sterling Carting Facility On Sterling Mine Road

A second-alarm structure fire broke out at approximately 1:45 p.m. at Sterling Carting/Recycling, located at 99 Sterling Mine Road.

Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including Sloatsburg, Monsey, New City, Hillburn, Suffern, and Mahwah, NJ, as firefighters worked to contain the blaze at the recycling facility.

Spring Hill EMS crews evaluated and treated several people for smoke inhalation at the scene. At this time, no life-threatening injuries have been confirmed.

Ramapo Police assisted with traffic control and scene safety as emergency operations continued.
