A structure fire broke out Thursday evening at approximately 7:00 p.m. at a residence located at 64 Post Road, near Orange Turnpike, prompting a large multi-agency response and a second-alarm activation.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames showing and immediately went to work battling intense fire conditions. Crews operated for more than two hours, ultimately knocking down the fire and bringing it under control.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the fire originated from the chimney. The home was completely destroyed as a result of the blaze. No injuries were reported.
Fire departments from Sloatsburg, Monsey, Tallman, Suffern, Hillburn, Spring Valley, Hillcrest, Tuxedo, and Mahwah NJ responded to the scene. Ramapo Police, Spring Hill EMS and Faist EMS, also assisted during the incident.
During the extended operation, the Monsey Fire Department’s RAC (Rest and Comfort) Unit was on scene providing light food and drinks to firefighters as suppression and overhaul efforts continued.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
