Sheriff Louis Falco and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office are joining sheriffs across New York State in marking the annual observance of Sheriffs’ Week, held each year during the third week of September.
The weeklong recognition highlights the long history of the Office of Sheriff in New York and showcases the many critical services sheriffs provide to their communities year-round. Locally, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office is honoring the efforts of its Road Patrol Deputies, Detectives, Mounted and K9 units, River Patrol, Crime Scene investigators, Civil Officers, Corrections Officers, and civilian staff.
“These men and women remain dedicated to protecting, serving, and supporting the citizens of Rockland County each and every day,” Sheriff Falco said.
In recognition of the observance, County Executive Ed Day and Legislature Chairman Jay Hood presented proclamations honoring Sheriff Falco and his department for their professionalism and service to the community.
