Senator Weber to Host Press Conference Urging NYSED Commissioner and State Monitors to Explain the Unexpected $30 Million Surplus in East Ramapo

Senator Bill Weber will host a press conference demanding answers from the NYSED Commissioner and State Monitors regarding the suddenly discovered $30 million surplus in East Ramapo.

Senator Weber will demand accountability from the New York State Education Department (NYSED), Commissioner Betty Rosa, and the previous and current state-appointed monitors overseeing the district.

This sudden discovered surplus raises serious questions about the district’s fiscal monitors’ supposed financial oversight and the allocation of funds intended to benefit students and schools.

Senator Weber will outline his concerns, one that is shared by the taxpayers, and will call for immediate transparency and corrective action.
