The ongoing Chill with Bill events continue to draw unprecedented numbers of constituents eager for the opportunity to meet the popular New York State Senator Bill Weber, whose personal touch continues to attract crowds from all over.
The Senator’s unstinting efforts to meet directly with the public and to hear their concerns via the creative avenue his popular Chill With Bill events represent continue to meet with the unabashed praise of constituents.
Thursday’s Chill With Bell, which took place at the home of philanthropist Berry Kohn on Sumter Road in Airmont, followed the upward trending wave and attracted more than one hundred community members keen to spend time with Senator Weber.
Airmont Village Trustees Moshe Menachem Friedman and Isaac Weiss were in attendance. The pair shared regrets from Deputy Mayor Shimon Moses, who was unable to attend due to a family levaya in Brooklyn.
The exuberant and upbeat mood in the packed room was palpable. The enthusiastic attendees were pleased to be able to take home lawn signs to advertise their firm support for Senator Weber – the people’s choice for the upcoming election.
“The Chill With Bill events are the highlight of my week,” Senator Weber said. “It’s important to be approachable and to spend time with the community while taking note of individual and group concerns. This, to me, is an important part of what I do as a Senator.”
The most commonly raised issues at the outreach events has been the East Ramapo Central School District tax increase demanded by the New York State Education Department Education Commissioner Betty Rosa in addition to the usual paving, sidewalk, streetlight, and pothole concerns.
The successful Thursday night event followed fast on the heels of two other Chill With Bill style events, including the Sunday morning, October 27 Breakfast with Bill at Eli’s Bagel Shop in Spring Valley and a Farbrengen With Bill, which took place Wednesday, October 30 at the home of Chaim Adler on Zukowski Drive in Thiells.
