Senator Bill Weber (R-38) announced Tuesday that his campaign has led in fundraising for the third consecutive campaign finance filing period as he seeks re-election this November.
According to Weber’s campaign, he has raised more than $254,000 since his 2024 re-election victory. The campaign also expects to receive the full $375,000 in New York State public matching funds, giving it a substantial financial position heading into the final months of the election cycle.
Weber’s campaign noted that despite being significantly outspent in both his 2022 and 2024 races, he won each election in the 38th Senate District. He captured the seat in 2022 by approximately 3,200 votes and was re-elected in 2024 with a margin of about 9,500 votes.
The campaign also highlighted that the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) did not include the 38th Senate District among the six New York State Senate races it identified as its top targets for the 2026 election cycle.
Earlier this year, Senator George Borello, chair of the Senate Republican Campaign Committee, visited Rockland County to reaffirm Senate Republicans’ support for Weber’s re-election campaign.
“I am incredibly proud of our fundraising efforts and grateful to all of my generous supporters across the district and the state,” Weber said. “People recognize that my record in Albany is one of bipartisanship, effectiveness, and independence, and it’s energizing to see people across the political spectrum rally around me heading into the final stretch of this campaign.”
Weber added that he does not take any election for granted and remains focused on once again earning the support of voters throughout the district in the months leading up to Election Day.

Weber will also receive the full $375,000 in matching funds from the state, putting him in a commanding position to win re-election this November.
Senator Weber’s strong financial edge is also notable because, when calculating both candidate, party, and independent groups, Weber had been outspent 5-to-1 ($2.2M to $456k) by Democrats in 2022 and 2-to-1 ($932k to $518k) in 2024, and still won both races in his Rockland County district. Weber won the seat in 2022 by 3,200 votes and was re-elected in 2024 by a 9,500-vote margin.
Despite Democrats needing only one additional seat to secure a Senate supermajority, the DLCC apparently does not view the 38th Senate District as a seat they will be able to flip. That is a significant vote of no confidence in those seeking to unseat Senator Weber.
