On Monday, Senator Bill Weber, Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, Rockland County Legislator Aron Wieder, Ramapo Police Captain Kevin Lee and other Ramapo police personnel made a special visit to Camp Fun.
The distinguished guests were welcomed in true Camp Fun style with an impressive motorcade parade. Campers lined up along the side of the road, waving enthusiastically to the beat of the national anthem, which played over the camp’s speakers.
Senator Weber was invited by Camp Fun Director Menny Schwab, who sets an example for his campers by prioritizing gratitude for local community leaders and elected officials “We are incredibly thankful for the ongoing support from our community leaders and law enforcement, including Senator Bill Weber, Town Of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, and Ramapo Chief Of Staff Mona Montal” Schwab told Monsey Scoop. “Their efforts ensure that our campers have a safe and enjoyable environment to grow and learn.”
Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome. “It’s heartening to see the community come together in such a joyful manner,” Specht told Monsey Scoop. “Camp Fun embodies the spirit of unity and celebration that we strive for in Ramapo.”
Senator Bill Weber also shared his thoughts on the visit. “Being at Camp Fun yesterday and seeing the smiles on these children’s faces was incredibly rewarding,” Weber told Monsey Scoop. “Their enthusiasm and gratitude remind us why my office continues supporting Camp Fun and other summer camps for Rockland County youth.”

Ramapo Police Captain Kevin Lee emphasized the importance of community engagement. “Our presence at Camp Fun yesterday is a testament to the strong relationship between the police and the community,” Lee told Monsey Scoop. “We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our residents, especially our youngest ones at Camp Fun.”
