New York State Senator Bill Weber is reminding voters to turn over their ballots in order to cast a NO vote on Proposition One. Senator Weber’s office has received numerous calls from early voters who missed this step and want to ensure others don’t make the same mistake.
“Early voters who forgot to check the back of their ballots asked us to help spread the word,” Senator Weber said. “Some voters have also been misinformed that failing to vote on Proposition One invalidates their entire ballot. This is false—but it is important to take the opportunity to vote no on Proposition One.”
Proposition One, also known as the Equal Rights Amendment, would add several new protected categories to New York’s Constitution. Senator Weber believes it threatens religious freedoms and parental rights.
“I urge everyone to turn over their ballot and make their voice heard on Proposition One,” Senator Weber continued. “This amendment could fundamentally impact parental rights and religious liberties in our state. Missing this opportunity only brings it closer to passing.”
Senator Weber encourages voters who support family values and religious freedom to vote NO on Proposition One.
