Last week, Senator Bill Weber announced funding totaling $452,143 for critical infrastructure upgrades at Finkelstein Library. This funding includes $243,605 designated to replace six aging boiler systems, some of which have been in use for over 40 years. These outdated systems will be replaced by two new, energy-efficient boilers, promising enhanced performance and reduced operational costs.
An additional $208,538 is allocated for expanding the library’s facilities. This expansion project involves the demolition of an adjacent building to make room for a new foundation, paving the way for future development and increased capacity.
Senator Weber was joined by Laura Wolven, the library’s Director; Rae Mirabal, Head of Building & Grounds; and Library Trustee Esther Waldman. The funding underscores a strong commitment to supporting Finkelstein Library’s growth and ensuring it remains a modern, resourceful space for the community.
