“Today is a dark day for New York State as the Medical Aid in Dying Act takes effect. I fought this legislation tooth and nail from the day it was introduced until the final vote because I believe New York should always choose hope, compassion, and quality end-of-life care over physician-assisted death. I remain committed to protecting our most vulnerable residents and defending the sanctity and dignity of every human life.”
